Washington State transfer quarterback Cam Ward is closing in on a commitment decision.

The top-ranked quarterback available in the portal has narrowed his list of options down to Miami or entering the NFL draft, multiple sources have indicated to On3. DJ Uiagalelei has emerged as Florida State’s top transfer portal target, another school Ward was looking at. The former Oregon State and Clemson quarterback will pick the Seminoles or the NFL.

A former no-star recruit, Cam Ward spent two seasons at Washington State after transferring in from Division II Incarnate Word. He started 25 games for the Cougars, throwing for more than 6,400 yards and 43 touchdowns while adding 11 more scores on the ground.

Just because Ward is closing in on a decision, it isn’t stopping other schools from making a last-ditch pitch.

Entering the NFL draft remains a viable option as he approaches an announcement. The Hurricanes finished this season 7-6 and have targeted Ward as their top portal target since college football’s free agency opened earlier this month.
