Caullin Lacy: South Alabama WR set for Texas A&M visit
The No. 2 available wide receiver in the transfer portal will be on the road this weekend.
South Alabama transfer wide receiver Caullin Lacy will be in College Station this weekend from Friday to Sunday, a source tells On3. He ranked No. 5 in the nation this year in receptions (91) and yards (1,316). The 5-foot-10, 190-pound receiver had seven touchdown catches, too.
The Aggies are not the only program competing to land a commitment from Lacy. Louisville, Auburn, Mississippi State and Oregon have also offered the receiver.
Mike Elko was named Texas A&M’s next head coach last month, taking over for Jimbo Fisher. Adding Caullin Lacy would pair well with his plans for an explosive offense in College Station.
“We’re going to find a way to play explosive offense,” Elko said in his introductory press conference. “We’re going to be part of the modern era. We’re going to be able to switch up tempos, we’re going to be able to utilize our personnel. I think in this day and age you’ve got to be able to be very multiple and very adaptable in what you do on offense.”
