Central Arkansas transfer guard Layne Taylor has committed to Murray State, a source tells On3.

New Racers head coach Ryan Miller has been active in the Transfer Portal at this point. Taylor is his seventh portal addition, joining Creighton transfers Mason Miller and Fredrick King, West Virginia transfer KJ Tenner, UIC transfer Javon Jackson, DePaul transfer JJ Traynor, and UC Santa Barbara transfer Ben Shtolzberg.

Taylor, a 5-foot-10 freshman point guard, earned A-Sun All-Freshman honors last season after averaging 17.4 points and 3.7 assists in 20 games played. Taylor missed the last part of the season with a shoulder injury.

Programs like San Diego State, Wake Forest, Wyoming, College of Charleston, Richmond, East Carolina, and others all reached out to Taylor upon entering the Transfer Portal.

He is a native of Farmington, Arkansas, who attended Farmington (AR) High and played travel ball with the AAO Flight organization.
