Boston College, Mississippi State to host Michigan State CB Charles Brantley
Michigan State cornerback transfer Charles Brantley has a busy weekend ahead.
The former three-star recruit will visit Boston College and Mississippi State this weekend, a source tells On3. Brantley will be officially visiting the Eagle on Friday before spending Saturday and Sunday with the Bulldogs.
He started the first three games of the season before dealing with an injury that kept him on the sidelines for the final nine games of the year. Because of the injury, he took a redshirt which will give him two years of eligibility remaining.
In his three games this year, Brantley finished with 10 tackles and a pass breakup. He played in eight games with one start as a true freshman in 2021, making 18 tackles and four pass break-ups.
The cornerback initially entered the transfer portal last spring before withdrawing his name, picking up offers from Colorado and Oklahoma. With a new staff in East Lansing, Brantley is looking for a new place to finish his collegiate career.
The No. 54 cornerback in the 2021 cycle, according to On3’s Industry Rankings, Boston College would provide the opportunity to be coached by Jeff Hafley, who has a track record of coaching the secondary. Jeff Lebby was recently named the new head coach at Mississippi State, too.
