Cincinnati Bearcats center Viktor Lakhin has entered the NCAA transfer portal according to On3’s Jamie Shaw.

After sitting out his freshman season due to an injury, Lakhin appeared in 29 games off the bench for Cincinnati during the 2021-2022 season. Averaging 4.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game on 61.7% shooting from the field, earning AAC Freshman of the Week honors twice in his first season of action.

2022 was Lakhin’s first season as a full-time starter for the Bearcats, starting in all but one of his 33 game appearances in what would represent the breakout season of his college career. Scoring 11.6 points per game with a 61.7% field goal percentage (No. 15 nationally and No. 1 in the AAC) along with 7.1 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game. All representing career highs as he’d lead the team in rebounds, blocks, and steals for the season.

Last season Lakhin suffered an ankle injury and missed one game due to illness, making 24 starts and 29 total game appearances. Averaging 9.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game as his production would take a drop in the Bearcats’ first season in the Big 12 Conference.
