Colorado defensive lineman Chazz Wallace plans to enter Transfer Portal
Colorado Buffaloes defensive lineman Chazz Wallace plans to enter the Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
This is the second time that Wallace has entered the Transfer Portal. He previously played two seasons and 23 games at Old Dominion before he transferred to Colorado. Now, he’s on the move again.
Chazz Wallace played high school football at The Avalon School (Maryland), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,958 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Wallace played in 10 games during the 2023 season for head coach Deion Sanders and Colorado. He started the last four of those games. Still, it was a difficult season at times for the Buffaloes. Colorado went just 4-8 in his first season there, losing the final six games of the season.
Despite that, during that time, the 6’2 295 pound defensive lineman made his impact felt for the Buffaloes’ defense.
Over the course of his career, Chazz Wallace has 56 total tackles. He also has 5.5 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks for his career. He also brings plenty of experience, having played in three seasons and been at the college level for four years after Old Dominion skipped the 2020 season.

Colorado and the Transfer Portal
Since Deion Sanders has taken over as the head coach at Colorado, the Buffaloes have been one of the most active teams in the portal. That includes both players leaving the program and players coming into the program. Among the big names to transfer to Colorado are quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way player Travis Hunter.
To this point in the 2024 cycle, Colorado has the second-ranked transfer class, according to the On3 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings. Within that, there are 19 players who have transferred out and 25 who have transferred into the Colorado program since the end of last season. However, for now, Chazz Wallace doesn’t count against that number.
One thing that head coach Deion Sanders will need to navigate is getting the Colorado roster to 85 scholarship players. Between incoming transfers and freshmen, teams often need to see players transfer to not end up above that number.
The Spring Transfer Portal Window will be open for a total of 15 days.
