Colorado transfer defensive lineman Chazz Wallace committed to NC State on Wednesday night, announcing the news on his Instagram and Twitter pages.

This is the second time that Wallace has been in the transfer portal. He previously played two seasons and 23 games at Old Dominion before he transferred to Colorado. Now, he’s on the move again, this time to the NC State Wolfpack.

Colorado had an impressive start to the 2023 campaign, winning their first three games, but then the bottom fell out in the second half of the season. The Buffaloes’ weaknesses were exposed as they faced more difficult competition down the stretch, finishing with a 4-8 overall record. Colorado has brought in a few new additions from the transfer portal this offseason, and they’ll hope their revamped offensive line can block more effectively than they did last year.

NC State had a very impressive season last year under head coach Dave Doeren. The Wolfpack finished 9-4 overall and 6-2 in the ACC, wrapping up their year with a 28-19 loss to Kansas State in the Pop Tarts Bowl. Doeren has now guided NC State to back-to-back seasons of eight or more wins. The Wolfpack will open up their 2024 campaign on Thursday, August 29th, as they face off against Western Carolina. Then on Saturday, Sept. 7th they’ll face off against the Tennessee Volunteers.
