Coveted Northwestern transfer Nigel Glover schedules multiple visits for this week
LB Nigel Glover, a four-star recruit from the 2023 cycle, is back on the market as one of the players who left Evanston amidst the scandals that have taken place at Northwestern. Now, several teams are now in the mix to add him late in the game ahead of the upcoming season.
Per reports, Glover is currently at Kentucky on a visit with the Wildcats in Lexington. Michigan State will also host the linebacker recruit later on this week in East Lansing. That’s before he’ll head to Ann Arbor to meet up with the Michigan Wolverines over the weekend.
Glover, a native of Dayton, Ohio, played high school football at Northmont. He was the No. 306 overall recruit in the ’23 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 31 linebacker in the class and a Top-10 player out of Ohio.
According to his RPM, other schools that were involved in his initial recruitment were Illinois, Miami (OH), and West Virginia.
Glover was the highest-rated prospect for Northwestern’s class coming into this season. That was until Glover became the second player to enter the transfer portal after the school fired Pat Fitzgerald and considering things are only getting worse regarding the story around the school’s athletics department.
Glover has caught the attention of a handful of big-time programs since hitting the portal last week. With these visits this week, he could come to a decision quickly by the end of these trips.

Jim Phillips addresses Northwestern hazing scandal during 2023 ACC Football Kickoff
ACC Commissioner and former longtime Northwestern Athletics Director Jim Phillips was named in a lawsuit regarding hazing allegations last week.
The lawsuits allege that leaders at Northwestern, including Phillips, were negligent in allowing hazing inside the team’s football locker room.
Phillips issued a statement last week, stating in part that “any allegation that I ever condoned or tolerated inappropriate conduct against student-athletes is absolutely false.”
On Tuesday at the 2023 ACC Football Kickoff, he addressed the lawsuit during his opening remarks.
“Before I close, and unrelated to the ACC, I do want to briefly address the ongoing matter at Northwestern. I’m sure some of you have questions. As you are aware, I released a statement last week. This is a very difficult time for the Northwestern community. And my heart goes out to any person who carries the burden of mistreatment, or who has been harmed in any way,” Phillip said. “During my 30-year career in college athletics, my highest priority has always been the healthy and safety of all student-athletes. As you know, with this matter in litigation, I’m unable to share anything more at this time. I’m happy to address your questions about the ACC and ACC football, so let me turn it over to Amy [Yakola] and we’ll get started.”
