Source: Michigan in communication with Dante Moore
Dante Moore is not going to rush his transfer portal decision.
The former Five-Star Plus+ recruit and UCLA transfer quarterback officially entered the transfer portal on Monday night. Viewed as one of the top names available in the portal, he’s looking to find a home that can help develop him for a starting job, a source close to the quarterback tells On3.
According to the source, Moore and Michigan have been in touch since he entered the portal around 8:30 p.m. ET on Monday night. A timetable for a decision has not been established, but the Wolverines would check off several boxes he’s looking for.
The native of Detroit considered Michigan in his high school recruitment. The Wolverines are the top-ranked seed in the College Football Playoff. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy could leave for the NFL draft. There’s also the chance he could also return for another season. Learning behind McCarthy and working with Jim Harbaugh would be a strong fit for Moore.
The No. 2 quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class, Dante Moore threw 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions for the Bruins this year while passing for 1,610 yards.
