Duke running back Jaquez Moore withdraws from NCAA Transfer Portal
Duke Blue Devils running back Jaquez Moore withdrew his name from the NCAA Transfer Portal. He initially entered the portal on December 7th.
Jaquez Moore has been with the Blue Devils for the past three seasons, seeing significant playing time during each of those seasons. He has one remaining season of eligibility remaining. During his time with Duke, Moore carried the ball 186 times for 1,121 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also has 11 career receptions for 145 career yards.
Jaquez Moore played high school football at Suwannee (FL), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,254 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
All of this comes amid a coaching change at Duke. Former head coach Mike Elko left for the Texas A&M job. He was later replaced by Manny Diaz, a former ACC head coach and most recently the defensive coordinator at Penn State. It’s hard to say how much those changes have impacted Moore on his decisions, but it’s likely been a consideration.
