East Carolina wide receiver O'Mega Blake enters NCAA Transfer Portal
East Carolina wideout O’Mega Blake officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Wednesday, On3’s Pete Nakos reported. He had just transferred to ECU back in January, but decided to hit the portal again after spring practice had wrapped up. Blake spent most of the last month working with the second-team offense, behind wideouts like Anthony Smith, Kelan Robinson, and Chase Sowell, according to Stephen Igoe of Hoist The Colours. Before transferring to ECU, Blake spent time with the South Carolina Gamecocks. He won an award for being one of the most improved players on the South Carolina offense in spring of 2023.
Now, he’ll be looking for his third home in the transfer portal. The spring transfer portal window opened on Tuesday, April 16th, and runs for two weeks, through April 30th. The 6-foot-2, 172-pound wideout flashed ability in ECU’s Purple-Gold Spring Game this past weekend, hauling in a few nice catches.
ECU finished 2-10 overall on the 2023 campaign. South Carolina finished 5-7 overall last year, including 3-5 in the SEC.
He spent three years with the Gamecocks, appearing in 16 career games with four starts. Blake hauled in 20 catches for 251 yards and two touchdowns during his time there. He also hauled in a career-high five catches for 86 yards against Georgia. Blake also hauled in a 26-yard touchdown catch against Vanderbilt late in the fourth quarter. He saw limited action in 2022.
