Florida A&M OL Kardell Thomas enters NCAA transfer portal

Florida A&M offensive lineman Kardell Thomas entered the NCAA transfer portal. The former top 100 recruit and LSU commit is back in looking for a third school.

Thomas will have one year of eligibility remaining after leaving FAMU. Thomas played in four games for LSU during the 2022 season, including the Citrus Bowl win over Purdue.

In 2021, he played in a career-high six games with two starts. Those starts came against Louisiana-Monroe and Texas A&M, when the Tigers finished the regular season with a win in Death Valley.

In 2019, Thomas suffered a preseason ankle injury that set him back upon his arrival to campus. Thomas was on roster as the Tigers won a National Championship during the 2019 season. Upon his return in 2020, he played in one game, seeing game action against South Carolina.

As a member of the Class of 2019, Thomas was a four-star recruit out of Baton Rouge (La.) Southern University Lab School, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 5 overall prospect in the state, the No. 4 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 93 overall prospect in the class.
