Florida State transfer Cam Corhen commits to Pitt
Former Florida State forward Cam Corhen has committed to Pitt out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
Corhen averaged 9.4 points and 3.9 rebounds for the Seminoles during the 2024 season. Despite being a regular fixture of the Florida State offense as a true sophomore, he started 12 of FSU’s 28 games this year after starting 21 one year ago as a freshman.
Despite this, he managed to eclipse his averages from 2023 in every single category while also cutting back on his personal foul and turnover average.
His most impressive showing this past season, ironically, was a 25-point scoring performance in what ended up being an 88-73 blowout loss to Pitt on the road. He made 9-of-10 free throws during the career-best day. It was the first, and only time Corhen had scored 20 or more points in a single game.
The 6-foot-10, 225-pounder is a former four-star recruit from Kansas who joined Florida State as part of its 2022 signing class. He was the No. 14 center in his class and the 103 overall recruit, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

Switching to the four-spot in college, Corhen was the No. 33 overall PF and No. 143 player in the transfer portal at the time he entered. However, being a highly-touted recruit out of the high school ranks gave him multiple power conference looks after entering the transfer portal during last month.
After Florida State’s 17-16 record in 2024, Corhen exited the program along with center Jaylan Gainey, forward Cam’Ron Fletcher, and shooting guards Darin Green Jr. and Josh Nickelberry — all of whom entered the portal around the same time. Whether any of them join the new Panther remains to be seen.
For Pitt, the Panthers finished 22-11 this past season but missed out on the NCAA Tournament. They would end up declining their invitation to play in the NIT. One year prior, Pitt finished the year 24-12 and made their first NCAA Tournament under head coach Jeff Capel. However, they would fall in the second round in 2023.
Still, the past two seasons have revitalized Pitt’s desire to contend in the ACC. With Corhen’s arrival, he will help in that effort as the Panthers continue to make their rise in their respective conference and in turn, a national scale.
