Florida transfer TE Andrew Savaiinaea commits to Nevada Wolfpack
Florida transfer tight end Andrew Savaiinaea was searching for a new home in the portal this offseason. He officially found it on Sunday evening. Savaiinaea officially committed to the Nevada Wolfpack and announced the move on his Twitter page.
He made his collegiate debut in 2023 against the Charlotte 49ers on Sept. 22nd. In 2022, he didn’t see any game action.
Savaiinaea played his high school football with Graham-Kapowsin in Graham, Washington. He helped guide his team to an unblemished 15-0 record and a 4A state championship in 2021. As a senior, he hauled in 24 catches for 317 yards and nine touchdowns.
In the 2022 cycle, the 6-foot-4, 273-pounder was rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 757 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. When he chose Florida coming out of high school, he chose the Gators over offers from Oregon, Kentucky, UCLA, Nebraska, and others. When he signed with Florida, he was originally a defensive end, but switched to the other side of the ball to tight end.
