Trelon Smith has a new home. The former Arkansas running back is heading to Conference USA via the transfer portal.

Smith took to Twitter to announce he’s transferring to UTSA. He’ll have one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer, starting his career at Arizona State.

“Unfinished business,” Smith tweeted. “Let’s get it.”

Last year was Smith’s second at Arkansas, and he totaled 598 rushing yards and five touchdowns with the Razorbacks. That came one season after he had 710 yards and five touchdowns for Sam Pittman’s group.

Smith transferred to Arkansas after two years with Arizona State in 2017 and 2018 when he had a combined 12 rushing attempts for 60 yards over those two seasons. Out of high school, he was a three-star recruit and the No. 44 running back from the Class of 2017, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Las Vegas sets Arkansas win total odds at 7.5 for 2022 season

Having officially climbed up and out of the cellar of the SEC, Sam Pittman’s Arkansas Razorbacks are getting much more favorable projections from the oddsmakers in Las Vegas. After covering their 2021 win total projection by three games, the Razorbacks’ total for 2022 is at 7.5 wins, according to Vegas Insider.

In 2021, Arkansas upset Texas in stunning fashion, picking up an early-season rivalry win and a nice storm-fielding fine. Beating Texas A&M in Week 4 sent a message to the whole nation that the Hog was, in fact, back.

After taking consecutive losses versus Georgia, Ole Miss and Auburn, Sam Pittman got the Hogs back on track to take down Mississippi State and then LSU in overtime on the road. Arkansas capped a three-trophy season with a rivalry win over Missouri and finally, an Outback Bowl victory versus Penn State.
