Former Cal linebacker Oluwafemi Oladejo announces commitment to UCLA
Former Cal Golden Bears linebacker Oluwafemi Oladejo announced his commitment to UCLA on Monday just hours after hitting the NCAA transfer portal. Oladejo, from Elk Grove, California, opted to stay close to home with a commitment to another home state program.
For the Golden Bears this season, the 6-foot-3, 255-pound sophomore had 91 tackles, including a sack, with 4.5 tackles for loss. He also scooped up a fumble versus Notre Dame early in the year and forced another versus Stanford. Versus Oregon, Oladejo intercepted a pass with a return of 26 yards.
He has three years of eligibility remaining to play two seasons for the Bruins. It is his first transfer so he will be immediately eligible to play in 2023.
As a freshman, the linebacker played in nine games, including his first career start against Oregon State. He notched 36 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and two quarterback hurries.
Coming out of Consumnes Oaks High, Oladejo was a three-star prospect, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
