Former Cincinnati TE Chamon Metayer commits to Colorado from the transfer portal

Colorado has already gotten to work in the transfer portal with five commitments so far. Now, as of Sunday, Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes have their sixth.
Chamon Metayer, a tight end that has played for Cincinnati over the last two seasons, is heading to Boulder after announcing his commitment to Coach Prime and Colorado out of the portal.
Over a pair of campaigns with the Bearcats after redshirting, Metayer caught 24 passes for 290 yards and five touchdowns. Essentially all of that production came this past season as the top tight end for Cincinnati. He finished third on the team in receptions (23), third in yards (258), and number one in reception touchdowns (5).
Metayer played high school football at North Miami (FL) where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 399 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as a Top-25 ATH as well as the No. 62 player out of Florida in his class.
Michael Harrison was the only tight end to record significant statistics this season for Colorado. That makes this even more of a quality pickup for the Buffs as far as another target for QB Shedeur Sanders to look for.
