After entering the NCAA transfer portal, former Clemson offensive lineman Mitchell Mayes has committed to Charlotte.

Mayes returns to his home state of North Carolina after spending the last four years of his career with the Tigers. At Clemson Mayes played in 32 games and made nine starts for a total of 919 career offensive snaps, and he’ll be looking to bring his Power Five experience and size with him to the Queen City.

Mayes played high school football at Leesville Road (NC), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 229 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
