Former Georgia OL Austin Blaske commits to North Carolina from the transfer portal
Austin Blaske, an offensive lineman that has seen limited action at Georgia over the past four seasons, is headed to Chapel Hill.
Blaske shared his commitment to North Carolina out of the transfer portal in an announcement on Twitter on Friday.
Over his time in Athens, Blaske appeared in 18 games as a reserve over the past three years after redshirting as a freshman. Most of that came in 2022 after he played in nine of the Bulldogs’ 15 games en route to a second consecutive national title.
However, during this season, he appeared in just three games against UT Martin, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt.
Blaske played high school football at South Effingham (GA) where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 542 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as the No. 52 OT in his class as well as the No. 61 player out of Georgia.
