After entering the NCAA transfer portal, former Louisiana quarterback Zeon Chriss has officially committed to Houston.

Chriss joins the Cougars following two seasons with the Ragin Cajuns’, appearing in four games as a freshman when he was redshirted and taking over as Louisiana’s starter in 2023 following an injury sustained to the team’s starter.

In his eight game appearances last season, Chriss completed 66.7% of his passes for 1,222 yards, 11 touchdowns, and five interceptions, also generating 492 yards of offense on the ground along with six rushing touchdowns. But his breakout season came to an end in Week 10 when he suffered a season-ending injury, breaking his fibula against Arkansas State.

Chriss played high school football at Baton Rouge (LA) Madison Prep Academy, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,012 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
