Miami EDGE transfer Collins Acheampong commits to UCLA

Former Miami Hurricanes EDGE Collins Acheampong has found a new college football home clear across the country. Acheampong has just informed On3 that he is committing to play for the soon-to-be Big Ten UCLA Bruins and their head coach, Chip Kelly, in 2024.

The 6-foot-8, 270-pound defensive lineman had originally committed to play for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines coming out of high school. However, Acheampong had a change of heart before signing his commitment letter and decided to travel across the country to play for Mario Cristobal, at Miami. He did not record any stats for the Hurricanes this past season.

Acheampong played high school football at Santa Margarita Catholic High in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 154 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
