Former Northwestern defensive lineman Austin Firestone has just exited the NCAA transfer portal, and we now know where he will be playing next season. According to a recent social media post from Firestone, he is changing his stripes to go from a Wildcat to a Tiger as he has committed to Missouri for 2023.

Firestone played high school football at Niceville High in Niceville, FL, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 492 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. In his lone season with the Wildcats, Firestone played in three games, recording three total tackles.

After arriving at Northwestern, Firestone would switch sides of the ball, going from an offensive tackle to a defensive end. In his class, he ranked No.28 in the country at tackle.

Track transfer portal activity

The NCAA Transfer Portal, which covers every NCAA sport at the Division I, II and III levels, is a private database with names of student-athletes who wish to transfer. It is not accessible to the public.

While the NCAA transfer portal database is private, the On3 Network has streamlined the reporting process tracking player movement.
