Former Notre Dame quarterback Drew Pyne is out of the transfer portal and is headed to the state of Arizona. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Pyne has committed to play for the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2023.

Pyne played high school football at New Canaan (CT), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 238 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Pyne started 10 games for Notre Dame this season and led them to an 8-2 record. He completed 66.1% of his passes in those starts for 2,001 passing yards and 21 touchdowns. Pyne earned the Fighting Irish starting QB job this season after an unfortunate season-ending injury to Tyler Buchner. But with Notre Dame’s interest in other quarterbacks in the transfer portal, Pyne opted to find greener grass, and he has appeared to find it at Arizona State.

Track transfer portal activity

The NCAA Transfer Portal, which covers every NCAA sport at the Division I, II and III levels, is a private database with names of student-athletes who wish to transfer. It is not accessible to the public.

While the NCAA transfer portal database is private, the On3 Network has streamlined the reporting process tracking player movement.
