Ohio State transfer tight end Joe Royer commits to Cincinnati

After entering the NCAA transfer portal in December, former Ohio State tight end Joe Royer has committed to Cincinnati.

Royer returns home after spending the last four seasons with the Buckeyes where he made 14 game appearances. During his time in Columbus, Royer recorded four catches and 24 yards for the Buckeyes.

Royer played high school football at Elder in Cincinnati (OH), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 395 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
