Former Oklahoma wide receiver Cody Jackson announces transfer to Houston
Cody Jackson has made his transfer portal decision.
The former Oklahoma wide receiver is heading to Houston, he announced via Instagram on Wednesday. He’s coming off his freshman year with the Sooners under former coach Lincoln Riley.

Jackson played in just two games with the Sooners, totaling five receptions for 45 yards in both appearances. He arrived in Norman as a four-star recruit and the No. 21 wide receiver from the Class of 2021, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average.
He’s joining a Houston team that went 12-2 overall and a perfect 8-0 in American Athletic Conference action in 2021. The Cougars also defeated Auburn in the Birmingham Bowl last year.

Cody Jackson after entering the transfer portal: ‘It has been an honor playing … in front of Sooner Nation’
After entering the portal, Jackson wrote a message to Oklahoma fans about his brief time in Norman.
“I sincerely thank the coaching staff at the University of Oklahoma for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to play at the highest level of Division I football, it has been an honor playing in ‘The Palace’ in front of Sooner Nation,” Jackson wrote, in part. “I am immensely grateful for Chris and Julie Watson, the care and support you showed was immeasurable, I truly thank you. To all my teammates and brothers, I will forever cherish the relationships we’ve built, as well as the countless hours we have put in together perfecting our craft.
“With this being said, I will be entering my name into the transfer portal, this will allow me to explore my options and find the best home for me. I look forward to what God has in store for my future and trust that He will guide me.”
