Former Pittsburgh defensive lineman Samuel Okunlola has committed to Colorado out of the transfer portal, he announced on social media on Tuesday night. Okunlola will have multiple years of eligibility remaining.

He finished with five sacks in 11 games in 2023 for the Panthers after playing in four as a true freshman. He’ll provide some pass rush upside and solid run defending to the front for the Buffaloes.

And while he’s not an offensive lineman, Okunlola fits with head coach Deion Sanders‘ general offseason mode of pursuing reinforcements in the trenches. The Buffaloes have already landed commitments from a bevy of offensive line transfers during the winter cycle of the portal.

Okunlola is the older brother of Miami offensive tackle and former five-star recruit Samson Okunlola.

Okunlola played high school football at Thayer (Mass.) Academy, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 567 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
