Former South Carolina QB Colten Gauthier commits to Gardner-Webb

Colten Gauthier, a former quarterback at South Carolina, is becoming a Bulldog after committing to Gardner-Webb out of the transfer portal.

Gauthier made the announcement in a post on Twitter on Sunday evening.

Gauthier just finished his third season in Columbia as a redshirt sophomore. In total, he went 2-3 overall for 34 yards in a pair of appearances as a Gamecock.

Gauthier played high school football at Hebron Christian Academy (GA) where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 651 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was a Top-50 QB in the class and the No. 56 player out of the state of Georgia.
