Tennessee transfer defensive back Wesley Walker commits to Louisville
Former Tennessee defensive back Wesley Walker has committed to Louisville after entering the NCAA transfer portal.
Walker finds a new landing spot ahead of the 2024 season, marking the third program of his career after spending three seasons at Georgia Tech and the last two with the Volunteers.
With the Yellow Jackets Walker appeared in 23 games and made 13 starts, recording 95 tackles, six pass breakups, and two forced fumbles before transferring back to his home state. In Knoxville Walker played in 23 games for the Volunteers, starting the first 10 games of the 2023 season for Tennessee before an injury put an end to his season.
Walker made 56 tackles (nine for loss), 2.0 sacks, seven pass breakups, an interception, and a forced fumbles in his two seasons with the Vols, and will be looking to bring that same production with him in his final collegiate season with the Cardinals.
Walker played high school football at Nashville (TN) Ensworth, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 505 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
