Former Texas A&M defensive lineman Fadil Diggs commits to Syracuse
Syracuse earned a transfer commitment from the sort of talent that has rarely featured for the Orange in modern times. Former Texas A&M defensive lineman and four-star prospect Fadil Diggs committed Syracuse out of the portal in a major win for new head coach Fran Brown.
Diggs played in all 12 games this season and was considered a starter for the Aggies. He wound up recording 36 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss, four sacks, and six quarterback hurries. That sort of sack production and general disruptive ability on the defensive line is something Syracuse has lacked in a single player for a number of seasons.
Brown and Diggs also share the same hometown: Camden, New Jersey. New Syracuse defensive coordinator Elijah Robinson helped recruit Diggs to College Station originally.
Diggs played high school football at Woodrow Wilson (N.J.) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 154 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
