Former Texas A&M, Ole Miss WR Chris Marshall commits to Boise State
Former SEC wide receiver Chris Marshall is expected to transfer to Boise State, he announced via social media.
The former five-star wideout played the 2023 season at Kilgore Junior College after previously attending Texas A&M and Ole Miss. He transferred out of the Aggies’ program after his true freshman season but was dismissed from Ole Miss this past offseason for violating team rules before landing in the JUCO ranks for the 2023 season.
He was the No. 1 overall player in On3’s JUCO Industry Rankings, having been a former five-star recruit coming out of high school. Before that, Marshall played high school football at Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend, where he was a five-star prospect. He was the No. 24 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
According to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Marshall logged statistics in six games for Kilgore Junior College in 2023. He logged 21 receptions for 449 yards and five touchdowns during his one-year tenure at the junior college level.
Now with his fourth program in two years, Marshall has potential that has been suppressed for several reasons but is now ready to showcase it on a main stage in the Mountain West Conference. Even his former teammates at Ole Miss saw it in him during the short time he was in Oxford.

“Chris is more of an outgoing personality,” Rebels wide receiver Jordan Watkins said during the offseason. “I really like him — he’s in my workout group and he lifts with me. I’ve gotten to talk to him a little bit more than the other guys.
“He’s going to be a really, really good player for us this year. I think you can see it in the way he works. He’s not one of those guys who gets mad whenever you tell him to do something. He just likes to show up and work. That’s a great characteristic to have. Kind of reminds me of myself a little bit. He’s a tall guy, he’s fast and he’s got really, really good feet and hands.”
Marshall begins his Boise State career on the road against Georgia Southern on Aug. 31, but will play the likes of the newly-transitioned Big Ten Conference team Oregon during Week 2, and Oregon State (date TBD) during the 2024 college football season.
