Jarrett Doege re-entered the transfer portal earlier this week. Now, he reportedly found his new home.

Doege is enrolling at Troy, according to The Troy Messenger’s Josh Boutwell, and is officially listed on the Trojans’ roster. Boutwell added he practiced Thursday and will be eligible to play in 2022 despite entering the portal twice during the offseason.

Doege started his career at Bowling Green in 2017 and played two years there, appearing in 19 games and throwing for more than 4,000 yards over that time before transferring to West Virginia ahead of the 2019 season. During his three years with the Mountaineers, Doege appeared in 27 games and turned in the biggest season of his career in 2021. He threw for 3,048 yards and 19 touchdowns to help WVU to a 6-7 record and a Guaranteed Rate Bowl appearance against Minnesota.

He initially entered the portal Dec. 31 before initially committing to Western Kentucky. While there, he was competing with West Florida transfer Austin Reed to be the Hilltoppers’ starting quarterback. However, he went back into the portal Aug. 14, On3’s Matt Zenitz reported, and it didn’t take him long to land at Troy.

Troy went 5-7 overall and 3-5 in Sun Belt action last season. The Trojans moved on from head coach Chip Lindsey and are now led by Jon Sumrall, who spent the last three seasons on Mark Stoops’ staff at Kentucky.

As a recruit from the class of 2017, Doege was a three-star prospect and the No. 102 quarterback prospect in the nation that year, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
