Former Wisconsin defensive lineman Rodas Johnson has committed to Texas A&M, he announced on social media on Saturday. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Johnson basically took a pair of redshirt years, not playing in 2019 and appearing in one game during the 2020 Covid year that didn’t count towards eligibility. Then from 2021-23, Johnson appeared in 37 games, making 49 tackles and 10 tackles for loss. He’s batted a pair of passes and forced a fumble during that three-season span, too.

He’ll join an Aggies defensive front that sloughed plenty of talent from the 2023 squad, both to the NFL draft and the transfer portal. Johnson will likely have a chance to compete for starts and certainly a considerable role.

Johnson played high school football at St. Francis de Sales (Wis.) Parish School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 425 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
