Former Wisconsin OL Trey Wedig commits to Indiana
Former Wisconsin offensive lineman Trey Wedig has committed to Indiana out of the transfer portal, he announced on social media on Saturday night. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
After redshirting as a true freshman in 2020, Wedig played in 12 games in 2021. He played in 10 games, making eight starts in 2022, mostly at right tackle. He then played all 12 games for the Badgers during the 2023 campaign as a full-time tackle.
Wedig is a major get for new Hoosiers coach Curt Cignetti, who now has a major building block on the offensive line for Year 1. Wedig, a former four-star recruit, is the type of player that Indiana is not normally featuring on its roster this late in his career.
Wedig played high school football at Kettle Morraine (Wis.) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 93 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
