Georgia Tech quarterback Zach Gibson has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Gibson spent the first three seasons of his college career with the Akron Zips, where he threw for 2,471 yards, 15 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in his 17 game appearances. He joined the Yellow Jackets ahead of the 2022 season where he made six-game appearances and three starts, completing 54.8% of his passes for 589 yards and just one touchdown pass.

He did not see any game action this year after he was beaten out by Haynes King for Georgia Tech’s starting quarterback job ahead of the 2023 season. Gibson also joins his brother Tyler Gibson in the transfer portal who played on Georgia Tech’s offensive line the past two seasons.

Gibson played high school football at Alpharetta (GA) Johns Creek, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 2,042 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
