QB Grayson McCall adds UCF visit to weekend schedule
Coastal Carolina transfer quarterback Grayson McCall has a busy weekend planned.
Arguably the most accomplished quarterback in Coastal Carolina history, the first three-time Sun Belt Player of the Year in the league’s history will visit UCF this weekend, a source close to the quarterback told On3.
On3 reported on Monday that McCall is visiting Raleigh this weekend to spend time with the NC State staff. The quarterback will now make two stops on the road. The Wolfpack conducted an in-home visit with the former Coastal Carolina star over this past weekend, impressing him with their plan.
He’s making sure to keep his options open by traveling to the Sunshine State. UCF is losing starting quarterback John Rhys Plumlee after this season. McCall would be a strong fit in Gus Malzahn’s offense with his dual-threat capabilities.
McCall has thrown for more than 10,000 yards in his career, tossing 88 touchdowns with only 14 interceptions. He’s rushed for 18 touchdowns, too. Grayson McCall dealt with an injury for most of this season, however, playing in just seven games. The former three-star recruit has a career completion percentage of 69.9%.
The quarterback entered the transfer portal a year ago, drawing interest from a range of suitors including Auburn. He later removed his name.
