Holy Cross Crusaders quarterback Matthew Sluka has committed to transfer to the UNLV Rebels.

Matthew Sluka played the last four seasons for Holy Cross, becoming one of the best quarterbacks in that program’s history. He was twice a Walter Payton Award finalist and twice selected to the All-Patriot League First Team. In 2023, he was also the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year. Sluka was also a 2020 Jerry Rice Award finalist.

During his time with the Crusaders, Sluka has thrown for 5,896 passing yards for 59 touchdowns to only 15 career interceptions. A dual threat, he also rushed for 3,579 yards and another 38 touchdowns. Holy Cross was Patriot League Champions in 2020, 2021, and 2022. They were co-champions in 2023. On top of that, the Crusaders made the FCS playoffs three times.

With head coach Bob Chesney leaving for James Madison, Matthew Sluka also took the opportunity to move up to FBS. At UNLV, he will take the place of Mountain West Freshman of the Year Jayden Maiava. Meanwhile, Campbell transfer quarterback Hajj-Malik Williams also recently committed to UNLV.

Matthew Sluka played high school football at Kellenberg Memorial (NY), where he was an unranked prospect in the 2020 recruiting cycle.
