Indiana linebacker Anthony Jones enters the NCAA Transfer Portal
Indiana Hoosiers linebacker Anthony Jones enters the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Prior to his time with the Hoosiers, Anthony Jones started his college career at Oregon. While with the Ducks, Jones played in two games during the 22 season, earning a redshirt. He played in six games with the Hoosiers, recording 12 total tackles. His transfer comes a season before Oregon and Indiana begin sharing a conference.
Anthony Jones played high school football at Liberty (Nevada), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 576 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
This transfer comes amid a coaching change at Indiana. Tom Allen, who took over as the Hoosiers head coach at the end of 2016, was fired at the end of the season. In his place, the Hoosiers hired Curt Cignetti. Prior to coming to Indiana, Cignetti compiled a 52-9 record in five seasons at James Madison, helping the program transition from FCS to FBS in the process.
