Alabama DL transfer Isaiah Hastings commits to Syracuse

Alabama defensive line transfer Isaiah Hastings has committed to Syracuse, he announced via X on Monday afternoon. Hastings was previously committed to Missouri but opened his NCAA transfer portal recruitment back up. Now, an SEC-caliber player will be heading to play for newly hired head coach Fran Brown.
The Mizzou decommitment from Hastings comes off the backs of Missouri’s Kevin Peoples reportedly heading to LSU to join Brian Kelly’s staff. LSU has hired Blake Baker to be the program’s next defensive coordinator and decided to bring Peoples along with him.
Now, Hastings has decided to play for new Syracuse defensive coordinator Elijah Robinson. His background is on the defensive line and was hired to Brown’s staff via Texas A&M. A big pickup for the Orange heading into a new era for the program.
Hastings played high school football at Toronto (Ontario, Canada) Clearwater Academy International, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 151 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
