Jared Brown is shutting down his transfer portal recruitment and making a commitment.

The Coastal Carolina wide receiver spent the weekend at South Carolina. While he had visits planned with Auburn and Louisville over the next few days, he won’t be making those visits. Brown has told On3 he has committed to the Gamecocks.

“It was the right fit for me because they made me feel like I was at home as soon as I walked on campus,” Brown said. “The staff was great and they took care of me during my visit. This is a place I can see myself playing at and making life-long relationships.”

With two years of eligibility remaining, Jared Brown racked up 1,000 all-purpose yards this past season. He finished with 58 catches for 740 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He added 252 yards and a score on the ground, too.

As a redshirt freshman in 2022, he earned freshman All-American honors from the Football Writers Association of America, tallying 49 receptions for 789 yards and six touchdowns.

The Sun Belt honorable mention will join a wide receiver room that lost their top wide receiver Juice Wells to the portal. Brown has the skills and experience to emerge as the top wideout for South Carolina in the 2024 season.
