JMU WR Elijah Sarratt plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
Ever since former JMU head coach Curt Cignetti packed his bags and left to become the head man of the Indiana Hoosiers, the Dukes have seen a mass exodus from their football program in the portal. On Friday night, Dukes fans got some more bad news, as another star player from this year’s roster is planning to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. Elijah Sarratt plans to test the waters, he announced on his Twitter page.
Sarratt was dominant in his sophomore campaign, hauling in 74 catches for 1,076 yards and eight touchdowns. In his announcement, he remained open to the idea of possibly returning to JMU, but he plans to explore his options.
“First I want to thank God for where I am today. While JMU is still an option, I want to thank y’all for everything! With that being said, I am entering my name into the transfer portal with 2 years of eligibility left. Elijah Sarratt.”
He transferred to JMU after spending the 2022 season with Saint Francis, where he earned FCS freshman All-American honors after hauling in 42 catches for 700 yards and 13 touchdowns.
