Washington State WR transfer Josh Kelly commits to Texas Tech

Former Washington State wide receiver Josh Kelly is making the jump to the Big 12, he tells On3.

The grad transfer has committed to Texas Tech after making an official visit to Lubbock earlier this week. The decision comes after he also made a portal visit to Notre Dame. He had scheduled a stop at Utah, but that has been called off.

Ultimately, the Red Raiders won out. One of Cam Ward’s top targets this past fall at Wazzu, Kelly finished with 61 catches for 923 yards and eight touchdowns this season. One of the top wide receivers in the Pac-12, he will give Texas Tech a reliable option in the passing game in the 2024 season.

A former three-star recruit, he was a three-year starter for Fresno State before transferring to Washington State ahead of the 2023 season. With the Cougars losing four starting wide receivers, he cut up Pac-12 defenses.

Josh Kelly has proven he can be a deep threat for quarterbacks to turn to. Now the Red Raiders and head coach Joey McGuire have added a major weapon to their wide receiver room.
