Kansas DL Gage Keys enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Kansas defensive lineman Gage Keys has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. Keys will be a graduate transfer with multiple years of eligibility remaining.
Keys transferred to Kansas ahead of the 2023 season from Minnesota. Keys spent three seasons at Minnesota, only playing in his third year with the program in 2022. Even still, his role was sparing. He played in just three games and registered five total tackles.
In one season at Kansas, Keys played in 11 games and carved out a role as a key contributor in the Jayhawks defense.
Having obtained a redshirt in 2021 and getting a free year of eligibility in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Keys has two years of eligibility remaining after four years in college. And with a degree in tow, he’ll be immediately eligible at his next stop as a graduate transfer.
Keys played high school football at Hilliard Davidson (Ohio) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 825 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
