Kansas wide receiver Tanaka Scott has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. Tanaka was a three-star recruit in 2021.

Scott played high school football at Murphy (AL) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,500 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

The news of Scott’s commitment comes on the same day that the Jayhawks landed former Iowa State tight end DeSahwn Hanika. The college football veteran caught 17 passes 244 yards and four touchdowns in 2022, but has spent the majority of his collegiate career as a special teamer.

Kansas is currently ranked No. 24 in the On3 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings as of this report, and will only look to improve on that number as the Jayhawks head into the offseason. For now, they have their focus on UNLV in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl on Dec. 29.
