William & Mary transfer LB John Pius commits to Wisconsin
William & Mary transfer linebacker John Pius has committed to play for Wisconsin via the NCAA transfer portal, he announced via X on Monday afternoon. A huge pickup for head coach Luke Fickell, adding a great piece to his defense for the 2024 season.
Teams are always looking to add All-American caliber players to their roster, even if they are coming from the FCS ranks. Pius earned the honor this past season, playing in 11 games with the Tribe, recording 53 tackles, 16.0 tackles for a loss, and 9.5 sacks.
Quite the stat sheet Wisconsin will be hoping translates when going up against Big Ten competition. The linebacker is expected to have just one season of eligibility remaining and will make the most of his time in Madison.
Pius is one of the best linebackers available thus far in the cycle according to the 2024 On3 transfer portal rankings. He comes in at No. 3 in the position and was considered a three-star transfer with a score of 90.99.
