Louisville guard Koron Davis refutes announcement from school that he's transferring
On Wednesday afternoon, the Louisville men’s basketball program announced that guard Koron Davis would be transferring. That was apparently news to Davis, who took to social media to refute that he was leaving.
“I didn’t express to anyone at U of Louisville that I wanted to transfer. I never asked to transfer. I enjoy being a Cardinal. The fact an official statement was released giving false information is disheartening and sad,” Davis said.
The University of Louisville made an official announcement on Wednesday that Davis would leaving and provided a brief statement that said: “University of Louisville junior guard Koron Davis has informed the program that he intends to transfer. We support him and wish him well in the future.”
Davis, who came to Louisville as a junior college recruit, has not appeared in a game this season. He has two years of college eligibility left to use if he redshirts in 2023-24. Whether or not he does remain with the Louisville program going forward remains to be seen.
