Louisville lands transfer commitment from San Diego State tight end Mark Redman
Former San Diego State tight end Mark Redman will transfer to play for Louisville in 2024, he announced Tuesday via Twitter. It will be the second transfer of his career, which began at Washington in 2020.
Redman transferred to SDSU ahead of the 2022 season after seeing limited action in two seasons with the Huskies. He was immediately thrust into a starting role to end the year as a second team All-Mountain West selection with 21 catches for 233 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The 6-foot-6, 255-pound Redman would go on to build upon those numbers this season as he recorded a career-best 38 catches for 408 yards and three touchdowns. He was once again named a second team all-conference selection for his efforts.
As a recruit, Redman was a four-star prospect coming out of Corona Del Mar High School in Newport Beach, California. He ranked as the No. 315 overall player and No. 10 tight end in the 2020 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Mark Redman ranks as the No. 80 overall player in On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings and should be a valuable addition for Louisville.
