LT Overton visiting South Carolina, will also meet with Alabama

Micaiah and LT Overton are visiting South Carolina over the weekend after Alabama meets with them on Friday, On3’s Chad Simmons has learned. Both players are in the transfer portal after playing at Texas A&M.

LT Overton is one of the more notable Texas A&M players to enter the portal earlier this week. He was a Five Star Plus+ recruit, meaning he was one of the only players ranked by all four major recruiting media companies as a five star. He came in as the No. 12 overall prospect, No. 4 defensive lineman and No. 4 player in Georgia in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Upon his entry into the portal, Overton came in as the No. 23-ranked transfer so far this cycle, according to the On3 Industry Transfer Portal Rankings. In two seasons with the Aggies, he appeared in 21 games, recording 46 tackles and three tackles for loss, as well as one sack.

As for Micaiah Overton, he only made two appearances during the 2023 season, both coming against nonconference opponents. He was able to record a tackle against ULM and also made an appearance against ACU. During his first year in the program in 2022, Overton did not step onto the field.
