Texas QB Maalik Murphy plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
Texas quarterback Maalik Murphy plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Murphy appeared in six games as a redshirt freshman for the Longhorns in 2023, completing 39 of 70 passes, while totaling 465 passing yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions.
As a recruit, he was the No. 205 overall prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranked as the nation’s No. 12 quarterback and the No. 15 recruit in California.
