Mississippi State picks up commitment from Memphis OL Makylan Pounders

Memphis offensive tackle Makylan Pounders has committed to Mississippi State, he tells On3.

With two years of eligibility remaining, he will be able to play immediately for the Bulldogs. The offensive tackle graded out at 70.2 in pass blocking this past season, according to Pro Football Focus. Makylan Pounders allowed just one sack in 400 snaps this year, with four hits and six hurries.

He spent this last weekend at Auburn with Hugh Freeze and offensive line coach Jake Thornton. He had scheduled a trip to Mizzou for Jan. 5. The offensive tackle is in Starkville this weekend. He’s also had offers from South Carolina and Texas Tech.
