Florida State forward Malique Ewin plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Florida State sophomore forward Malique Ewin plans to enter the NCAA Transfer portal after one season with the Seminoles, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.
Ewin’s departure comes after the school announced in early February that head coach Leonard Hamilton would not be returning to the bench next season. The 6-foot-10 forward is coming off a career-best season with the ‘Noles where he averaged better than 14.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game while shooting 59 percent from the field.
A Lawrenceville (Ga.) native, Ewin transferred into the ‘Noles program last offseason from Ole Miss, where he appeared in 14 games as a sophomore, averaging just 6.1 minutes per contest.
He will become one of the top big men available on the market with one year of eligibility remaining.
As a recruit, Ewin was the No. 93 overall prospect in the Class of 2022, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranked as the nation’s No. 10 center and No. 3 player in Georgia.
